The official class ring of Purdue University symbolically captures the essence of the university and commemorates the unique and lifelong connection among Boilermakers.

Students will receive their ring during the ceremony which has been organized by the official Purdue Alumni Class Ring Committee. They will also hear a welcome from Marie Foster, vice president of alumni outreach and engagement and Dr. Katie Sermersheim, dean of students for Purdue. After the ceremony, students and guests will be directed to the reception to enjoy light snacks and the opportunity to take a group/family picture and have it printed for you to take home.
Vice President, Alumni Outreach and Engagement
As the Vice President, Alumni Outreach and Engagement and Chief Constituent Officer for Purdue Alumni Association, Marie relishes in building programming and making connections for Purdue Alumni around the world. She has been involved in public and private sectors to deliver well-rounded strategic leadership that drives business success and enhances student and alumni experiences. Marie earned an MBA with honors and a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University and has completed extensive leadership programs throughout the state. She has been a member of Tri Kappa, Rotary and strives to enhance her community by serving on a variety of nonprofit boards and strategic planning committees.
Dr. Katie Sermersheim
Dean of Students
Dr. Katie Sermersheim has been the Dean of Students at Purdue University since August 2015. Prior to that, she served Southern Illinois University Carbondale in several capacities over an 18 tenure including Dean of Students., Associate Dean of Students, Director of Student Development and Assistant Director of Student Development. She received her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She has an M.S. in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University, and a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Southern Indiana.
